Dining With Dignity

We know that a bowl of soup isn’t going to fix poverty or end homelessness. But it can provide warmth, comfort and the feeling of being part of a community. That’s why we started this initiative we call Dining With Dignity. You buy a soup token for $5.50 and give it to someone in the community who looks like they could use a hot meal. They come in when they’re ready, and we serve them a bowl of soup — no questions asked.

Gabriel’s is a community space, so for this thing to work it needs you. Your warmth and compassion, your welcoming smile, your kind words. This might be the first hot meal the person beside you has had in a while. They don’t want to be dirty or hungry. They just want something to eat in a safe space.

We know that staring poverty or homelessness or addiction in the face can be uncomfortable. If you’re having a hard time, please talk to us. We’ll be there for you with a hot cup of coffee and our own kind words. We’ll do our best to make sure you feel safe in our space because you are a part of our community too.
